KABUL(BNA): Afghanistan\u2019s Ministry of Public Works reported that more than 413,000 metric tons of goods were transported via the country\u2019s railway network during August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to information from the Ministry\u2019s media office, the amounts transferred through various railway lines include:
\u2022 259,697 tons via the Hairatan railway,
\u2022 44,770 tons through the Aqina railway,
\u2022 56,222 tons over the Turghundi railway,
\u2022 52,564 tons via the Khaf-Herat railway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together, these routes accounted for a total of 411,937 tons of oil products and other goods imported into the country. Additionally, 1,316 tons of commercial goods\u2014including mainly dried fruits, minerals, and pomegranate juice\u2014were exported and transited through the railway system.
The Ministry stated that efforts are ongoing to improve conditions and provide traders with the necessary facilities to boost transportation volumes further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For comparison, in July 2025, Afghanistan\u2019s railways facilitated the transport of approximately 393,294 metric tons, of which 3,189 tons were destined for export or transit.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
