ISLAMABAD, Sep 24, (Asia Free Press): Pakistan foreign ministry on Friday summoned the Indian Charge d\u2019 Affaires Cd\u2019A and conveyed Pakistan\u2019s grave concern over the recent targeting of Muslims in India\u2019s State of Assam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the foreign ministry said, in Assam where a brutal eviction drive against the Muslim residents of the State has been launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe video which shows killing of an unarmed man by the Police and the desecration of his mortal remains by the individuals embedded with the security forces is shocking beyond belief,\u201d said in the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was conveyed to the Indian official that the recent incidents of violence are, unfortunately, only a continuation of the relentless anti-Muslim violence which has become a norm in India under state patronage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Security forces are either themselves involved in perpetrating brutalities against Muslims with impunity or provide protection to the \u2018Hindutva\u2019 extremists and terrorists who regularly indulge in lynching and other forms of torture against Muslims, its added<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan accused India that a series of anti-Muslim and anti-minority legislations enacted by Government of India and incidents of violence against Muslim highlight the rising levels of intolerance and lack of respect for the minority communities in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CdA was told that the Government of India must investigate the recent anti-Muslim violence in Assam and other such incidents that have happened throughout India and punish the perpetrators of these crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt should also take measures to stop such incidents from recurring in future,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The violence erupted after the State authorities started a demolition drive.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Indian government demolished over 1,000 houses of Muslims including three mosques in Assam province, according to local media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Hindu-nationalists BJP government has launched an operation in the Gorukhuti in Dhalpur area of Darrang district on Thursday to formally evacuated over 2,000 Muslims from two villages that the state government termed \u201cillegal encroachments\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At least two people were killed during clashes with police, the local online News 9 reported.
