{"id":5177,"date":"2023-05-08T10:41:29","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T05:41:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asiafreepress.com\/?p=5177"},"modified":"2023-05-08T10:41:30","modified_gmt":"2023-05-08T05:41:30","slug":"binance-resumes-bitcoin-withdrawals-after-second-pause","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asiafreepress.com\/en\/business\/binance-resumes-bitcoin-withdrawals-after-second-pause\/","title":{"rendered":"Binance resumes bitcoin withdrawals after second pause"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>May 8 (Reuters) &#8211; Cryptocurrency exchange Binance resumed bitcoin withdrawals on Monday after halting it for the second time in a day, citing large volumes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Pending transactions are being processed by replacing them with higher transaction fees,&#8221; the company said in a tweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There is a large volume of withdrawal transactions from Binance still pending as our set fees did not anticipate the recent surge in (bitcoin) network gas fees,&#8221; Binance had tweeted earlier, referring to payments made to crypto miners who process transactions on the blockchain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in the day it had paused withdrawals for about an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March, Binance, the world&#8217;s largest crypto exchange&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/finance\/binance-pauses-deposits-withdrawals-due-issue-affecting-spot-trading-2023-03-24\/\">suspended<\/a>&nbsp;deposits and withdrawals citing tech issues.
