{"id":5101,"date":"2023-05-02T14:30:48","date_gmt":"2023-05-02T09:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asiafreepress.com\/?p=5101"},"modified":"2023-05-02T14:31:19","modified_gmt":"2023-05-02T09:31:19","slug":"un-allows-afghan-fm-to-meet-pakistani-chinese-counterparts-in-islamabad-next-week%ef%bf%bc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asiafreepress.com\/en\/asia\/un-allows-afghan-fm-to-meet-pakistani-chinese-counterparts-in-islamabad-next-week%ef%bf%bc\/","title":{"rendered":"UN allows Afghan FM to meet Pakistani, Chinese counterparts in Islamabad next week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UNITED NATIONS, May 02 (APP): A United Nations Security Council committee has accepted a Pakistani request to allow the acting Afghan Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, to travel to Pakistan next week to meet with the foreign Ministers of Pakistan and China, according to Ambassador Munir Akram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Security Council\u2019s Taliban sanction committee approved our request this (Monday) afternoon,\u201d the Pakistani envoy to the UN told APP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muttaqi is subjected to a travel ban, asset freeze and arms embargo under Security Council sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a letter to the committee, Pakistan\u2019s Mission to the UN requested an exemption for FM Muttaqi who is to travel between May 6-9 \u201cfor a meeting with the foreign ministers of Pakistan and China.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, the Security Council committee allowed Muttaqi to travel to Uzbekistan for a meeting of the foreign ministers of neighbouring countries of Afghanistan to discuss urgent peace, security, and stability matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, U.N.
