ISLAMABAD: The military has reassured the political leadership that in the ongoing dialogue with banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) that \u2018any deal made with the terrorist group would be subject to parliamentary approval.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also assured to political leadership that \u2018no extra-constitutional concessions would be given to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the ongoing dialogue\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports suggested that military leadership gave these assurancesin a meeting with the political leaders at Prime Minister\u2019s Shehbaz Sharif\u2019s House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PM Office, in a statement issued after the meeting, stated: \u201cThe decision will be made in the light of the Constitution of Pakistan with the approval of the parliament, the guidance provided for the future and the resulting consensus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peshawar Corps Commander Lt Gen Faiz Hamid who has been spearheading the TTP talks and ISI Director General Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum briefed the participants of the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the demand of Afghan Taliban, negotiations began with the TTP in October 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
