{"id":1234,"date":"2021-10-02T16:37:41","date_gmt":"2021-10-02T16:37:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asiafreepress.com\/?p=1234"},"modified":"2021-10-02T16:37:44","modified_gmt":"2021-10-02T16:37:44","slug":"pakistan-tajikistan-top-leaders-discuss-afghanistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asiafreepress.com\/en\/asia\/paksitan\/pakistan-tajikistan-top-leaders-discuss-afghanistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan, Tajikistan top leaders discuss Afghanistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>Prime Minister Imran Khan calls President of Tajikistan Emomali<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>ISLAMABAD, Oct 02, (Asia Free Press): Pakistan and Tajikistan&#8217;s top leaders on Saturday discussed Afghanistan&#8217;s current situation over the phone, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A statement, issued from the Pakistan&#8217;s Prime Minister&#8217;s office said,  Premier Imran Khan held a telephonic conversation with President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan and thanked him for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation during his recent visit to Dushanbe last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe two leaders exchanged views on the follow-up to the talks held in Dushanbe last month,\u201d said in the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Khan also shared with President Rahmon Pakistan\u2019s contribution to efforts for sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He underlined the importance of national reconciliation in this context.<br>Pakistani Prime Minister underscored the urgent imperative to address the humanitarian needs of the Afghan people.<br>He emphasised the vital role of the international community in providing necessary humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Khan also highlighted the immediate importance of economic engagement with Afghanistan to prevent economic meltdown and to alleviate the sufferings of common people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact to further coordinate their efforts in support of peace and stability in Afghanistan<br>On Sept. 18, after meeting with Tajik President, Khan said he initiated a dialogue with the Afghan Taliban to form an exclusive government in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter meetings in Dushanbe with leaders of Afghanistan&#8217;s neighbours &amp; especially a lengthy discussion with Tajikistan&#8217;s President Emomali Rahmon, I have initiated a dialogue with the Taliban for an inclusive Afghan govt to include Tajiks, Hazaras &amp; Uzbeks,\u201d Khan tweeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter 40 years of conflict, this inclusivity will ensure peace &amp; a stable Afghanistan, which is in the interest not only of Afghanistan but the region as well.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Imran Khan calls President of Tajikistan Emomali ISLAMABAD, Oct 02, (Asia Free Press): Pakistan and Tajikistan&#8217;s top leaders on Saturday discussed Afghanistan&#8217;s current situation over the phone, officials said.
