Panic in IIOJK as mobile, internet services go offline

Islamabad: Panic gripped Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) after mobile internet, broadband, and phone services went offline across the territory around 4 PM today.

This is not the first instance of communications blackout in the occupied territory. While some users reported a complete loss of connectivity, others complained of extremely slow internet speed and persistent disruptions, making communication nearly impossible.

Officials claimed that the situation was being closely monitored and urged the public not to panic, adding that technical teams were on the ground. However, phone calls continued to fail and internet services remained suspended across all major networks, compounding difficulties for residents already affected by heavy rainfall and fears of flooding.

Locals from border districts have also reported heavy movement of Indian troops along with armory and ammunition on the Uri–Gulmarg stretch, bordering the Poonch sector of the Line of Control. This military buildup has added to the anxiety among residents.

Reports suggest that the Narendra Modi-led Indian government is preparing for a major reshuffle in its military deployment in IIOJK, including plans to withdraw the Rashtriya Rifles from the hinterland and redeploy them along the Line of Control. Analysts believe this exposes New Delhi’s mis-adventurism and its aggressive posture towards Pakistan.

Observers say that the recurring internet blackouts, movement of forces, and shortages of petrol, medicines, electricity, and other essentials are part of the Modi regime’s psychological operations against the Kashmiri people. Such tactics, they point out, have been employed since the BJP government came to power, aiming to create an environment of fear and suppression in the occupied territory.
